Bucanneers send Wright to 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have acquired cornerback Eric Wright in a trade with Tampa Bay that sends a conditional selection in the 2014 draft to the Buccaneers.

The Bucs announced the deal Friday.
The trade comes one week after Wright was arrested in Los Angeles on charges of misdemeanor DUI, an LAPD spokeswoman confirmed to FOX Sports. Wright was arrested at 5:15 p.m. PDT at 30th and Crenshaw, the spokeswoman said.
Wright posted $5,000 bail and was released shortly after midnight, according to inmate information on the Lost Angeles County Sheriff Department's website. Also listed on the website is Wright's next date in court: Aug. 7 at 8:30 a.m. The 49ers face the Broncos one day later in a preseason game at Candlestick Park.
Wright's latest arrest follows one on suspicion of felony DUI last July. He was not charged in that case.
Meanwhile, Wright was suspended by the NFL last year for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. In a statement through the Buccaneers, Wright said he had tested positive for Adderall.
Following the season, the Bucs reworked Wright's contract, cutting his salary from $7.75 million down to $1.5 million, with the chance to double it through incentives. The pay cut made it easier to trade Wright, which is exactly what the Bucs have been trying to do all offseason, a source told FOX Sports. The source said the Niners and Bucs were discussing a trade as early as mid-June. It's unclear if Wright's arrest last week was the final nudge the Bucs needed to make the trade.
Wright joined Tampa Bay last season and played in 10 games, finishing with 37 tackles and one interception. In 2011 with the Detroit Lions, Wright started 16 games and had four interceptions. He will join a crowded secondary and crop of cornerbacks, including Carlos Rogers, Tarell Brown,Chris Culliver and Nnamdi Asomugha.
The 49ers did announce earlier Friday that they had waived cornerback Lowell Rose, who was signed as an undrafted free agent May 7.
