Fashion:Nike KD VI “Meteorology”

During 2011′s NBA lockout, Nike Basketball asked Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant this: If you couldn’t be a basketball player, what would you want to be for a living? His response: a TV weatherman – a choice that ultimately led to the creation of the “Weatherman” Nike Zoom KD IV. Now, for the latest evolution in the Durant-as-meteorologist storyline, Nike presents the “Meteorology” edition of the Leo Chang-designed Nike KD VI. First previewed at the launch event for the silhouette in KD’s hometown of Seat Pleasant, Maryland, the shoe boasts a Black/Atomic Red-Medium Olive-Noble Red colorway and is marked by the appearance of a topographical map and grid pattern throughout its synthetic upper – designs which pay homage to Durant’s basketball journey as the longitudinal coordinates for D.C.; Austin, Texas; and OKC all make appearances. Cushioned with a combination of Zoom and Max Air units and donning Flywire technology for lightweight support, the Nike KD VI “Meteorology” is due out at Nike Basketball retailers in limited quantities this Saturday, August 3 for $130 USD.

NICKI MINAJ GIVES FANS SNEAK PEEK OF MINAJESTY FRAGRANCE

After the successful release of her first perfume, Pink Friday, last fall, Nicki Minaj has just released photos of her second fragrance, Minajesty.
Making sure people know that they’ve got the right bottle of perfume, the ‘Starships’ rapper has fashioned the bottle to look like her — complete with pink hair and a red bustier.
The scent is set to be fruity with peach, red current and lemon notes blended with some magnolia, pink frangipani and tiger orchid. There is also a base of tonka, vanill and musk notes.
“#Minajesty smells like a passionate love affair,” she wrote in the caption of one her Instagram photos. “Mysterious and sexy. An unforgettable and hypnotizing scent.”
She already made a commercial for the fragrance with well-known photographer David LaChapelle — the same guy who shot her M.A.C VIVA GLAM campaign.
Through the photo-sharing social network, the Young Money star also revealed other limited edition bottles for both perfumes. “Pink Friday, PF limited edition, and #Minajesty,” she wrote. “The ones below are outfits that came with PF for a limited time when we launched in the UK. Yes, because they’ve done so well, we’re working on outfits for the US. I never dreamed I’d have a fragrance as a lil black girl in Queens, New York that was born in Trinidad. My fans made me #1 in Macy’s with the 1st fragrance and the rest is history. Love u guys. #GodIsInControl”
Check out other images of Minajesty below.

Harry Belafonte Wants One-on-One Meeting With Jay Z

Legendary entertainer wants to work out conflict with Hov.

Harry Belafonte wants a session with Jay Z, and it has nothing to do with music. After a bit of back and forth over a comment that the singer/actor/activist made accusing African-American celebrities, including Hov and BeyoncĂ©, of having "turned their backs on social responsibility," Belafonte has asked the half-a-billionaire for a sit down.
"This conflict was not from me as a direct attack on Jay Z and BeyoncĂ©," Belafonte recently toldMSNBC, explaining that he was at a press conference in Switzerland when he was asked to compare today's "artists and their social engagement" with how artists were acting earlier in his life.
"And I made the observation that the highly powerful voice that Black America has  there is so much celebrity power  that it was sad to see that the collective of celebrity power had not been applied to bringing consciousness to the antiquities that we face."
Belafonte had joined the news program to talk about his recent support lent to the Dream Defenders, a youth group who've vowed to remain stationed outside of the Florida Capitol until a session is held on the controversial Stand Your Ground law. The "Day O" singer has also recently joined Stevie Wonder's promise to not perform in Florida until the law is changed, which Jay Z was rumored to be joining until a Legends of Summer tour rep denied the claim.
In his own media rounds, following the release of Magna Carta Holy Grail, Jay has admitted to being "offended" by Belafonte's previous critique, saying his mere presence is "charity" and delivers "hope" (as does Obama's, he said) and that he wished Belafonte hadn't name-checked him in the media and in the same breath as giving a big up to Bruce Springsteen. Hov eplains his feelings lyrically on the MCHG track "Nickle and Dimes."
"I'm just trying to find common ground/ 'fore Mr. Belafonte come and chop a n---a down," he spit.

"I would hope with all my heart that Jay Z would not take personally what was said because it was not said about him personally," Belafonte concluded. "I would like to take this opportunity to say to Jay Z and to BeyoncĂ©: I’m wide open. My heart is filled with nothing but the hope of the promise that we could sit and have a one on one and let’s understand each other rather than trying to answer these questions and answer these nuances in a public place.”

Rick Ross – I Wonder Why

Rick Ross gets introspective on his new track, ‘I Wonder Why.’ Not only does he rap about the hard and dark times in his life so far, but also makes reference to the Trayvon Martin case.
In perhaps one of his more personal tracks this year, Ross questions his relationships and fame in the first portion of the song. However, things go even deeper when he starts to spit rhymes about the events surrounding George Zimmerman’s acquittal — he was found not guilty in the shooting death of Martin — and even makes references to Martin’s legacy.
“Now I’m being followed by some creepy-ass cracker / Stand your ground, stand your ground / Stand your ground, you gotta stand your ground,” he delivers on the bridge.
Then he goes a bit deeper into the goings on in the case with the second verse. “Got on my hoodie and my mother—-ing Desert Eagle / You wanna do me, then you go and tell the people / Knock me down, temp drops as the sun rise / I could see a hustler in my son’s eyes / I never knew that money bring so many enemies / Dreams come true, they dream of killing me / But it’s f— ‘em and I feed ‘em fish / Them killers coming, ‘X’ you off the list,” he raps.
The song ends with a clip of Rachel Jeantel’s testimony — she was a friend of Martin’s who spoke about the last conversation she had with him at Zimmerman’s trial.
The Maybach Music Group leader’s new LP, ‘Mastermind,’ releases in the later part of 2013 while MMG’s ‘Self Made, Vol. 3′ will drop Sept. 17.

Rick Ross drops a new single called, “I Wonder Why.” Ross mentions the, “Stand Your Ground,” law and, “Creep Cracker,” referring to the Zimmerman case.
